A Life Update
Oh, hey! How are you? It's good to see you visiting our page and reading this blog. I'd like to update you on what life has been like for Brooke and I recently! Ready? Okay, here we go.
The end of spring term was phenomenal. Our students are fantastic and have grown in incredible ways. Their growing has caused them to step up and see their campus with a new set of eyes.
And that makes us excited for our future here. God is doing some incredible work!
After spring term ended, Brooke and I made plans to go and be with friends in Charlottesville and celebrate great friends of ours, Michael and Lawrencia, as they celebrated becoming newlyweds! It was a fun time and the location where they got married was picturesque.
Afterwards, we traveled over to Tennessee and spent time with my family. We had not seen them in over a year, so it was wonderful to spend time with them. We probably ate our weight in baked goods during the time we were there.
Glad to see my family! Even Thurman was fun to be with.
Which caused us to start exercising! SworkIt is pretty awesome if you can't afford/don't have time for the gym. Check it out.
After spending time with my family, we went to Pennsylvania where we got to be part of our annual staff conference for the Northeast. INCITE happens nearly every summer and is a great way to learn about the campus issues of the day. It's also fantastic to see other Chi Alpha people who have become like family over the years. They know the trials and struggles we face because they have faced them, too.
While in Pennsylvania, we got to go to Pat's! Legendary for the Philly Cheese Steak. If you go, go with the cheese whiz. I thought provolone or mozzarella would be the way. NOPE! It's traditional to get cheese whiz on it. Who knew?
We also had extra time to kill, so we went to catch a Phillies game! Brooke has a mission to go to every ball park in America and this made number five for her! It was my first ever MLB game, so I was just happy to be there.
Now, we are back in CT and diving into the work of support raising for the upcoming year. We are also just stinkin' excited to be back in our own place after a month straight of travel and being elsewhere. There's no place like your own bed and pillow, y'know?
The cool breeze off the shoreline reminds me that the cool weather of fall and, soon after, winter are around the corner. And that means students are back and ready for another year at Yale. Though it is still a couple of months away, we look forward to seeing what God wants to do on campus after such a great year last year!
